Out-of-Universe information |
Jeremiah Mathews was a former boxer and Ranger in the Pan-Pacific Defense Corps, serving as one of the two pilots of the American Mark-3 Jaeger Southern Gentleman. Mathews and his co-pilot Tyler McWilliams served as Southern Gentleman’s pilots from its launch in 2017, to its destruction in 2022. Both were presumed dead and, instead of returning to the PPDC, fled to East Coast of the United States, where they lived out the rest of the war in peace. After the Breach was sealed during Operation: PITFALL, the restructured PPDC tracked them down and recruited them back into service, to serve as both the pilots of the newly restored Southern Gentleman and to train new generations of Jaeger pilots.
