Description[]
Trap Jaegers are similar to Jaegers in technology and operation, but vary tremendously in design. Trap Jaegers are almost always significantly smaller than Jaegers, and non-humanoid in appearance as well. Due to their smaller size, they frequently equip less weapons and munitions than other Jaegers, giving them the ability to mount more energy-intensive equipment such as large directed-energy weapons or powerful defensive systems.
Because of the increased cost of building a Trap Jaeger as compared to a Jaeger, they are rarely deployed in large numbers. They are usually operated as support units, with tactics more closely resembling those of a Kaiju than a Jaeger. However, exceptions have been known to occur, and groups of Trap Jaegers operating in conjunction are extremely effective.
In general, a Trap Jaeger is a unit emphasizing small size so that it can support a type of elemental cannon: this series of model include the test type model Hexstar and the mass production models Grafias and Brachium. Some models have a rather large size and are still classified as Trap Jaegers such as; Dynamo, Darkus Hound and Spindle.
